Winter 2010 :: Nordic Nights

As we embrace the start of Australia’s winter months, Toddy Sleepwear celebrates one of the world’s coldest places in its latest collection, Nordic Nights. After a summer reading adventure delving into the strange, icy world of Stieg Larsson’s ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, designer Michelle Legge felt compelled to explore the glacial planes of Scandinavia through Toddy’s second winter offering.

Nordic Nights is inspired by the strange duality that winter brings; where chilling temperatures give rise to cosy encounters, where lonely Scandinavian snow fields are dotted with inviting log cabins; and icy city wind tunnels show the way to warm café fireplaces.

Exploring the world of traditional Scandinavian knits; Nordic Nights features a yardage pattern derived from the humble woollen knitting stitch. Evoking wintry snowflake formations, Toddy’s yardage jersey and soft fleece give rise to cosy oversized cropped sweaters, figure skater inspired babydolls, jodhpur leggings, inviting capes, and of course, Toddy’s bestselling hooded onesies.
